If there’s one thing I’ve learned from photographing hundreds of Vegas weddings, it’s that you truly never know what you’re walking into, and that’s the fun of it. Ashlyn and Collin’s rooftop Cosmopolitan wedding in Las Vegas on the Boulevard Pool Deck was definitely one to remember!
Right after their ceremony, I overheard someone say, “Well, that was definitely the most unique ceremony I’ve ever seen.” In my head I just thought, yep—welcome to Vegas, because it really was so unique.

When I arrived at The Cosmopolitan, Lynelle with Lynelle & Co. Beauty was finishing Ashlyn’s makeup. She ended up staying longer than planned. She hung out with us, helped with the dress and veil, and even filmed their first look.
Ashlyn and Collin’s style was modern, playful, and very Vegas! Ashlyn wore a short dress with a flowy veil, and Collin wore a classic black suit with red accents, including his playing card cufflinks that was such a fun nod to Las Vegas. Every detail felt so intentional and true to their style.
Before the ceremony, Ashlyn did solo portraits. Collin joined her for the first look, and they exchanged gifts. Collin gave her diamond earrings (king behavior). Ashlyn gave him a boudoir book, and his reaction was everything. Full jaw-drop. Easily one of the cutest moments of the day.
We also had fun getting creative with their details. I love when couples trust me to try something different. I’m always up for a unique detail shot, and the fridge moment was too good to pass up.

After their first look, we spent time taking photos throughout the Cosmopolitan, stopping at places that were important to them. The Chandelier Bar and slot machines brought the classic Vegas feel, and the record-lined hallway near Secret Pizza added a little uniqueness to their gallery. That hallway was high on Ashlyn’s list, and the Barber Shop was a must for Collin, so we made sure to get photos at both. It was the perfect mix of polished and playful that makes a Cosmopolitan wedding in Las Vegas feel so iconic!

After portraits, we parted ways and I headed up to photograph the ceremony space. The rooftop is such a standout, with views of the Las Vegas Strip lit up in every direction. I originally set up lights, but quickly realized they were going to create harsh shadows, so I ditched them and shot everything with direct flash instead. It ended up being the perfect call.
Ashlyn and Collin had an Elvis officiant for their ceremony, and the space, the lights, and the energy of everyone up there dancing, having drinks, and singing made it one of those moments that just worked, and exactly what I love about a Cosmopolitan wedding in Las Vegas!

After the ceremony, Ashlyn and Collin moved straight into family photos and then right into the reception on the Cosmopolitan Boulevard Pool Deck. The whole evening flowed so easy, with open food guests could grab whenever they wanted. It felt so casual and relaxed. They shared their first dance, then cut the cake quietly in the middle of the room without any formal announcement, which fit the laid-back feel of how their entire day had felt.
They chose a live band over a DJ, and it really kept people on the dance floor all night. As I was wrapping up and heading out, I heard one of their guests start singing Benny & the Jets along with the band, and it honestly made me want to turn around and rejoin the party. Her voice was gorgeous. By the end of the night, it felt like more than just just a wedding I photographed, I left feeling like I had made real friends, and I can’t wait to visit Ashlyn and Collin in Texas!

The Cosmopolitan is one of those venues that has it all. Between the variety of photo opportunities throughout the property and the views from the Boulevard Pool Deck overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, it’s a space that doesn’t feel limited. It’s also convenient for couples and guests, with the option to stay, celebrate, and host both the ceremony and reception all in one place, which makes the entire experience seamless from start to finish.
My photography style pairs so well with a venue like the Cosmopolitan. I lean into flash-heavy, fashion-inspired photography with an editorial feel, but I’m always paying attention to the real moments happening in between. I’ll step in to guide when it’s helpful and step back when things are unfolding on their own, so nothing ever feels forced or overly posed.

I don’t take lightly what it means to be invited into your day. I’m not just there to document it. I’m there to witness it. To feel the energy, read the room, and make creative decisions that reflect the tone, the tension, the joy of the moment - without ever pulling you out of it.
